Starting in 1946 as a part of the All-America Football Conference, The Cleveland Browns have been playing in the North division of AFC in NFL. When the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) winded its operations in 1950, the Browns joined the NFL. The team has some remarkable feats to its credit, like winning 8 league championships, grabbing 4 AAFC titles and winning 4 additional championships before the merging of NFL-AFL in 1970. Being one of the three teams in league with ten former AFL teams to form American Football Conference, the club has taken part in AFC Championships 3 times.
